Literature Text

You came as salvation for the whole human race
But when you were condemned, they laughed and spat in your face
You accepted your burden, my sins to bear
In the form of a cross none with to share
You walked the journey on bleeding feet
Thrice you struggled and fell under blistering heat
Beaten by guards there wasn't a shout
As whips bit into your skin, you did not cry out
You were followed by women who wept and cried
But you told them to stop for you knew...they had tried
Mary, Simon, Veronica journeyed with you on your course
As did others now filled with so much remorse
You came to Golgotha, the place called "The Skull"
You knew what awaited but your heart was still full
While stripped and humiliated in front of the crowd
The guards cruelly laughed, and mockingly bowed
Stretched on the cross nails piercing your feet and your hands
All this pain to go through to meet a cruel pharisees demands
You hung on the cross until day turned to night
To your fathers hands you returned, restored to true might
You died for our salvation on calvary hill
You gave your life for us, and it is remembered still
okay, so right off, I'm not a jesus freak, but I have been raised catholic and i am an active member in my youth group. this year on good friday we put on a presentation on the passion of christ and it was so emotionally moving to be a part of. i mean, watching the movie is one thing but to actually be a part of it is truly amazing. I wrote this after our presentation.

well, awesome. i was really moved by that film as well. the first time i saw it, i never shut my eyes, i just was dumbfounded the whole time, but the second time, i knew waht was coming so i looked away a lot. it just makes you think, though, doesn't it...
